Hamilton 8th Graders Get a Chance to Show Interview Skills

Last Friday, April 10th, HCEDC had the pleasure of partnering with Western Illinois Works to bring some workplace leaders into Hamilton High Schools. Eighth grade teacher Mrs. Hendricks asked us to organize some mock interviews and a talk about keeping one’s future in mind as you make your way through high school. The topics included using social media to your advantage, soft skills for interviews, and even saving for retirement. Among our students we had a fledgling chef and an aspiring tool and die manufacturer. It was great to see the students looking and acting so very professional!

Our speakers and interviewers represented the sectors of law enforcement, healthcare, finance, education, and military service. We thank them for taking time out of their day to help provide this valuable learning experience to these students. The HCEDC also thanks Western Illinois Work for partnering with us on this project. Mrs. Hendricks has already expressed interest in doing this again next year!
