  • Business Visits
    • 11 visits since the strategic plan was adopted. That’s 2 ahead of Schedule. Nearly universally, businesses are giving low ratings for quality of employees.
    • Jaqui Bevelhiemer and I met with a local company about job creation incentives.
    • The Nauvoo Market looks great.
  • Touching Base with Investors
    • All of the premiere members have been reached except one.
  • Put New Entrepreneurs in Touch with Necessary Services
    • I’ve had two potential entrepreneurs contact me. One has since decided not to start a business.
  • Conduct Ribbon Cuttings and Generate Publicity for Opening Businesses
    • I’ll be checking up on the recently opened businesses this week.
  • Partner with WIB in Implementing Programs to Fill Retiree Positions
    • We are engaged in trying to fill positions created by a recent expansion at a local company.
    • Jerry had asked me to make sure I am aware of new openings and seek out potential hires. I am doing this.
  • Use the MTC Study to Apply for Fiber Optic Grants
    • I will be discussing this at a Nauvoo Roundtable meeting on the 17th. An MTC representative will be there.
  • Post Weekly Blog Entries
    • I think posting our minutes and/or a summary of my report would be a good addition.
  • Issue Quarterly Reports to Hancock County Business Associations
    • I will be at the Nauvoo exec committee this month.
  • Engage in Regular Communication with Hancock County Board and Other Local Officials
    • I was at Augusta this month. I’ll be at Carthage this week and Hamilton and Nauvoo the next. Bowen said wait because they are in a transition. I’m waiting to hear back from the rest.
  • LaHarpe Mapping
    • I’ll be at town clean up on June 20th.
  • Dinner with Dustin
    • Positive response is coming in.
  • Appointed to WIEDA
    • We are meeting this week to discuss bonds for Jacksonville school district
  • Logan County Partnership
    • David Blankenship was in town last Monday and met with me. It looks like both of our respective tourism people will be unable to meet until Fall.

    • Invoices went out. We already have quite a few returns.
